Andrae Crouch was born on July 1, 1942, in Los Angeles, California, in the United States. He is well known for his work on Borat: Cultural learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, The Color Purple and Downsizing.
He passed on January 8, 2015, in Northridge, California, however before his death he was named the Soul Gospel Artist of the Year both in 1975 and 1977. He was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame and Museum in 1998 and the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2007. He has also received six Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association and seven Grammys.
For ‘Jesus is the Answer’, he received a Gold Record. Despite his passing, his music continues to live on in the hearts of many, drawing people closer to God.
